Introduction: What we often miss
Have you ever felt that strange in-between place where you can see exactly where you want to go, yet something inside keeps pulling you back? You’re not lost. You’re not confused. You simply feel… resistance.
That’s exactly where Elodie finds herself in this episode of The Inner Space. A woman who has done years of deep personal development work, who knows her vision, who is already taking action and yet, something is still holding her back from fully stepping into her next chapter.

When you know your direction but still feel resistance
Elodie describes herself as being at a turning point. She has a clear vision for a new professional chapter, she has already started taking action, and she has done an enormous amount of self-development work. By all accounts, she should be moving forward with confidence.
And yet.
“I can feel I have the direction, I know where I want to go, but I can still feel some resistances,” she shares at the opening of the session.
This is one of the most frustrating places to be — because from the outside (and even from your own mind), everything looks fine. You have done the work. You know better. You can reason your way through your fears. But the resistance is still there, alive in the body, showing up as hesitation, procrastination or self-doubt.
This is the gap between knowing and embodying. And it is exactly what this session is designed to bridge.
Fear of judgment: the weight on the shoulders
One of the first resistances Elodie names is the fear of being judged and criticized. As she describes it, stepping into something new — something bigger and more visible — means stepping onto a kind of stage. And once you are on stage, you lose control of how people see you.
When asked what she feels in her body as she imagines being judged, she is immediate and precise: “It’s more in the shoulders. Like a weight. And something in the belly too — pressure.”
This is the body speaking. Not the mind reasoning, not the ego protecting — the body, holding the fear.
We dig deeper. Underneath the fear of judgment lives something more tender: the fear of disappointing people. And underneath that? The parents. The little girl who was always first in class, who loved to learn, who never wanted to let anyone down.
The beliefs we carry from childhood — about performance, about worthiness, about how we earn love and approval — have a way of following us into adulthood, quietly shaping the choices we make and the risks we dare (or don’t dare) to take.
The key insight here is this: Elodie’s parents are not actually putting pressure on her. She has created that pressure herself. And once she sees it clearly, she can start to question it: Is this expectation real, or am I imagining it?
The mind knows. The body still holds the fear
One of the most important moments in this session comes when Elodie begins to reason her way through her fears — and I gently interrupt.
“You’re smart. I don’t have to tell you what you already know. Now, what we can shift is the sensation in the body.”
This is a distinction that changes everything. Elodie, like many deeply self-aware people, has done a lot of cognitive work. She can articulate her fears, contextualize them, rationalize them. But the fear doesn’t live in the mind. It lives in the shoulders. In the belly. In the chest.
Working only on the mind level is one of the most common reasons people feel stuck even after years of personal development. They have accumulated enormous awareness, but the body hasn’t caught up yet. The sensation hasn’t shifted. And it is the body, not the mind, that ultimately determines how we move (or don’t move) through life.
The invitation is always the same: don’t just think about it. Feel it. Notice where it lives in your body. And from there, the real work — and the real change — becomes possible.
Human Design insights: the Manifesting Generator and the 2/4 profile
At this point in the session, we bring in a layer of context that helps Elodie make sense of her patterns in a whole new way: Human Design.
Elodie is a Manifesting Generator a type known for moving fast, exploring multiple directions, and changing course when something no longer feels aligned. This is not a flaw. It is literally how she is designed to operate.
For a Manifesting Generator, changing direction is not inconsistency. It is intelligence!
The key, however, is informing the people around you when you shift so they can follow along rather than feel confused or left behind.
Her profile is 2/4, which adds another layer of nuance. The Line 2 carries a particular sensitivity around expectations: either others project expectations onto you, or you project them onto yourself. Sound familiar? Elodie recognizes it immediately.
“That’s exactly what went through our discussion,” she says. “I didn’t know that, actually. Now I understand why I put pressure on myself.”
This is the beauty of Human Design used in a coaching context not as a fixed label, but as a living map. A way to stop pathologizing your patterns and start understanding them.
And for the Line 4 aspect of her profile: her greatest asset in building success lies in connection. Working from the heart, connecting authentically with the people around her — this is where her impact (and her abundance) will naturally flow from.
Fear of success and the hidden fear of losing control
The second major resistance Elodie names is perhaps the most counterintuitive: she is not afraid of failing. She is afraid of succeeding.
“I know within myself I have everything to win,” she says. And then, almost in the same breath: “But what I’m going to win — oh my God, can I deal with that?”
This is the fear of success in its most honest form. Not a fear of the spotlight itself, but a fear of what comes with it. More visibility. More expectations. Less control over how you are perceived. And something else, something subtler — the fear of losing what you have carefully built.
For Elodie, that something is balance.
She has worked hard to create stability, groundedness, a sense of equilibrium in her life. And stepping into a bigger version of herself feels like it might disturb that balance — at least temporarily.
The moment she names it, something shifts. It’s no longer a vague anxiety about success. It becomes a clear, workable question: What do I need in place to feel safe enough to grow?
Her answer comes quickly and with certainty: stability, balance, a sense of security. A grounded foundation from which she can expand.
This is not a limitation. It is information. And it is the kind of insight that transforms resistance into a practical roadmap.
Money blocks: from pressure to heart-centered abundance
The third thread we explore is Elodie’s relationship with money and it is perhaps the most layered of the three.
She describes a history of being underpaid, of linking her financial situation to her worth, of having a trauma early in her professional life that shaped how she negotiated (or didn’t negotiate) her value. She describes money as feeling like pressure — and when asked to imagine a world without money, she says, almost without thinking: “I would love to live in a world without money.”
That sentence is worth pausing on.
Because our minds and bodies are literal, when we say even philosophically, even with the best of intentions, that we would love to live without money, something in us responds accordingly. We unconsciously create the experience of living without it.
This is not about blame or self-criticism. It is about awareness. And once Elodie sees the connection, she is immediately ready to explore a new relationship with money, one that feels aligned with who she is now.
The shift comes through a visualisation. I invite her to imagine placing money in her heart, and naturally comes up for the word “fusion” to let heart and money come into fusion, infused with the color green, with love, with expansion.
What happens next is beautiful.
“I see a lot of gold. Like gold taking a bath in my heart. And it put me in joy.”
From pressure to joy. From rejection to welcome. From “I want to live without money” to “come in, you are welcome here.”
This is the work. Not positive thinking. Not affirmations. A genuine, embodied shift in the sensation — and from there, a new relationship becomes possible.
The reframe that can anchor this shift: money is love made visible. When people invest in your work, your services, your gifts, it is a form of saying, I see you, I value what you bring. Connecting money to love rather than to pressure or worth is one of the most powerful pivots you can make.
From the old me to the new me: stepping into the next chapter
One of the most resonant moments of the session is when we uncover what this transition really means for her.
“There is the old me and the new me. And I feel I am already the new me inside. But doing this project is like showing the new me to the world.”
She is not becoming someone new. She already is. The project, the move to a new city, the next professional chapter, these are not the transformation. They are the expression of a transformation that has already happened.
This distinction matters deeply. Because when we understand that we are not waiting to become ready — we already are — the resistance softens. What remains is not a question of whether we are capable, but whether we are willing to be seen.
And that, ultimately, is the invitation of this episode.
