#35-The Year I Wove Both: Mother and Entrepreneur

Almost two years into motherhood, I finally feel fulfilled both as a mother and as an entrepreneur, not one at the cost of the other. This is the update I’d give you on the phone if we hadn’t talked in a long time: how my energy came back, why I got support before I could see how it would work, and the two projects I birthed this year.

Introduction: The Year I Wove Both: Mother and Entrepreneur

I recently shared a video on Instagram: me at my computer, my son on my lap, trying to type on it with a stone. (A very ancient technique haha).

That’s not really how I work, he’s with his nanny when I’m working, but it’s a pretty good picture of this year.

Half of my day is with him, the other half is with my business, and I finally feel fulfilled both as a mother and as an entrepreneur.

That’s the part that matters to me: being happy in both roles and enjoying both.

This is the update I’d give you if we were on the phone and hadn’t talked in a long time. And even if you’re not a parent, you can relate to it, because you’re always birthing something: a project, a new lifestyle, a new chapter.

Maybe you’re in the gestation phase, maybe you’ve just given birth to your project, or maybe it’s settled now and you’re wondering how to move forward.

Where This Journey Started

I’ve been sharing this path with you from the beginning. Episode #7 was pregnancy, and I called it From Chaos to Creation, because that was really my experience of it.

For me, you start being a mom from the moment you’re pregnant. It isn’t visible outside yet, but inside everything is already shifting. Episodes #17 and #18 were my birth preparation and the birth itself.

Episode #25 was the first year: The Invisible Journey of Becoming a Mother.

I called it invisible because nobody celebrates what you achieve as a new mom. We celebrate an income, a job title, a published book.

Nobody celebrates “I managed to make my baby fall asleep” or “I managed to get through the day.” Yet each of those is a real achievement, and day after day they add up to so much. 99% of the time nobody acknowledges it: not your partner, not your family, and often not you!

Energy First, Then Time

For more than a year, our son woke us up every two hours.

We were absolutely exhausted. I had things I dreamed of and desired for my business that I just couldn’t put in place. Time was short, but energy was the one I missed most.

My identity as an entrepreneur slowed down a lot in that period. What never stopped was my work with clients. They always got the best energy I had, and I was always able to take care of them. I know some mothers can’t, and I’m so thankful I could.

The big shift came when he started sleeping more…

With my energy back, I looked at my time.

At the beginning of this year I did two AI bootcamps, one with Marjolaine Grondin and one with Eliott Meunier, so I could be more efficient and delegate what I dislike doing, like translations (which I always check back) and updates on my website.

I’m still the one recording and creating, because my creativity is the most precious part of me.

The point is to have more time for what I love: my clients, creating content like this episode, my son, exercise (why not dream, as young parents?), and just enjoying life.

Get Support Before You Can See How It Will Work

Before any of that shifted, while I was still in the rawness of sleep deprivation and short on time, energy and money, I decided to invest in support.

I had a calling to work with one person, and I trusted it, even though I couldn’t yet see how I’d make it work. That’s how you step into a new reality before you’re actually there.

A friend recently celebrated me for finishing one of my projects: “Wow, you achieved it, you went till the end.”

Yes, but I didn’t do it alone. In every project there’s a moment where you don’t know how to move forward. Is this the right one? Should I do this or that? You get stuck for an hour, a day, a week, three months, and then you look at the thing and you’re still stuck in it.

Being hard on yourself (“come on, why are you still procrastinating?”) doesn’t move you.

Support does.

When I didn’t know something, for example on the visual side, I’d share it with the community I was part of and have feedback within a few hours, sometimes a day.

Then I could move. I stopped stretching every decision out.

What I Birthed This Year

This year I anchored a new identity: mother and entrepreneur, weaving both. I have the immense pleasure of being a mom to my son, and I’ve come back to my creativity and the reason I do this work, which I’d been missing.
Two projects came out of it.

Creation Codes is my card deck: Art Activations for those birthing life, art and new realities. Each card carries a handmade, hand-painted healing artwork, charged with symbols and colors that shift your frequency and your inner state. I started those drawings three years ago. Then pregnancy brought big changes, and I wondered whether to change the theme. In the end, everything I’d created was useful. So if your project is taking longer than you planned, don’t judge yourself. See how you can keep going, and get support if you need it.

Alive Creator is my new seven-month mastermind. So much had shifted in who I’d become through motherhood that I needed to realign what I was offering. It brings together healing art, energy work, coaching, Human Design and Gene Keys readings and strategic thinking, all so you can create what you truly desire. (I talk about pricing it in episode #34.)

Give Yourself Room to Play

Right now I’m working on my website, and it shows how differently I approach a project now.

I sat down and thought: wow, this is going to take me so long, there are so many components. I was procrastinating a bit. So first I defined the steps, because it’s much easier to move when you know the exact next action.

Then I noticed I’d unconsciously put pressure on myself to deliver fast and not waste time. How can you create anything with that pressure on you? I don’t know how.

So I asked myself a different question. How can I give myself room for playful creation? How can this project lead me somewhere different from where I would have led myself in the past? When I position it like this, I don’t feel it’s just website work. I feel it’s a transformation in itself.

I took a sheet of paper and wrote down how I want people to feel when they land on my website, then gave each feeling a color.

Softness is pastel pink, because people often describe my coaching as a powerful softness. Power moves from red, which I love, into purple, which also carries the spiritual side of my work. Freedom is a vibrant electric blue like the ocean, essence is a grounding brown, and joy is yellow. For support that’s unique and personalized to you, I saw gold or silver.

I hope to birth it in the next month. We’ll see how long it takes. What matters most is how much I enjoy the process, and then the result is the cherry on top of the cake. That’s exactly the main message of Alive Creator.

What’s Still Uncertain

Balance isn’t set in stone. You find it, you lose it, you find it again, especially as your child’s needs change and your own desires evolve.

As a family, some things are still uncertain.

My husband left his job a bit over a year ago to build his own startup, so our financial situation has been different since.

We have deep questions about where we live, about a second baby in the coming years, about stability. Some moments are stressful, and we’re both asking: okay, how is this going to look?

As I was sharing this in the episode, something rose up in me: Gloria, you don’t know who you’re going to become. We always think about the future from where we are now, with today’s finances, the expenses coming and the income coming in. But the future will be different, because we’re working towards it. It’s a strange way of putting it, and it relaxes me every time: the future happens from a different present.

So I’m doing a lot of work with prayer and specific steps, calibrating toward my most powerful version each time, and asking myself how to stay in trust and in the flow while the answers aren’t here yet.

Questions for Your Own Reflection

– What have you achieved this year that nobody, including you, has named out loud?
– Is it really time you’re missing, or energy? What would give you some of it back?
– What are you waiting to “see how it works” before you get support for it?
– Where are you stuck on a decision you could bring to someone today?
– Where are you putting pressure on yourself to deliver fast? What would playful creation look like instead?
– What are you deciding about your future based only on your present circumstances?

Ready to Create What You Truly Desire?

My energy coming back was only half of it. The other half was deciding to be supported before I could see how it would work. If you’re in a season where you want to birth something and enjoy the process as much as the result.

I invite you to explore Alive Creator HERE, my seven-month mastermind for creators, artists and mothers ready to create what they truly desire.
