#22 -What If People You Admire Feel the Same Fears

We all face doubt… even when we look confident from the outside! You’d be surprised how many people you look up to experience the same fears you do. They might be at a different stage, but the essence is the same: every time we expand into unknown territory, doubt is part of the journey. The difference lies in how we choose to walk with it.

EPISODE SUMMARY

This episode is for you if you’re letting yourself be held back by doubts about your abilities or your legitimacy — anything that makes you feel like maybe you’re not good enough or not ready to make things happen.

Of course, I’m a business owner, and I talk a lot about business, also in the inner space. So I’ll focus more on business today, but as you listen, I’m sure you can also expand it to your career if you’re employed.

I would say, if the initial question resonated with you, then join me in this new episode.

Just a quick reminder if you want to leave a comment, I would love it, especially if you enjoy what I’m doing. I receive so many private messages that truly warm my heart — messages about how this episode or another one has helped you open new perspectives or supported you.

If you listen on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Podcasts, your feedback helps me immensely so that all the work, messages, and support I’m sending out can reach even more people. Thank you.

So, let me go back to today’s topic and what sparked my desire to create this episode.

EPISODE TRANSCRIPT

I had a discussion with a woman I know from my previous life, if I can say so, back when I was doing fundraising for an art institution, before becoming a coach and changing my career path.

This person reached out to me — she had started her own coaching journey and wanted to have a chat to understand how things were working for me, business-wise and generally as a coach.
We hadn’t talked in a while, so we had a lovely catch-up call. I shared all my experiences and insights with her.

After that, I actually recorded a podcast episode that you can also listen to — it’s episode 19 — if you’re wondering whether you’d like to become a coach and want to know a bit about what goes on behind the scenes.

I also gave her a few insights about her Human Design and how I’d recommend she integrate it into her business journey, because that’s something I learned much later — but that would really have helped me build my business in a way aligned with my nature. A few weeks went by, and then I saw her posting on LinkedIn saying, “I’ve been hiding for months because I felt like an impostor.”

She decided to just have the courage to start posting again, rebuilding her trust, and feeling more and more comfortable sharing where she was at — so she could grow as a coach, grow her business, and become more visible.
That’s a journey many of us go through.

As I was reading her post — and supporting her, as many others did — I thought: there’s a big misunderstanding that I need to talk about, especially if you’re at the beginning of your journey of showing more of who you are at work, or embracing a path that feels more aligned with your heart’s desire and your capabilities — with what feels right for you.

As you go through that journey, there are often lots of fears and doubts — which is completely normal, especially when you’re changing careers or starting a business.

And sometimes, it even happens within your own business — you’ve been doing it for a while, but you feel like you’re changing so much that you’re reorienting everything.
That can also be a vulnerable moment.

When I began my journey, I used to look at people who were more established and think, “Okay, they know how to do it. They’re more advanced.”

I saw them doing communication, promotion, and offers — and it felt like it was easy for them. Maybe “easy” isn’t the right word, but it looked like they knew exactly what they were doing.
Now, years later, I understand: it’s not that they always know what they’re doing, and it’s not that I don’t.

The only difference is that they and I move forward with our fears and doubts. We don’t let them hold us back. That’s the only difference. If you recognise yourself in the story I told about that person, I really want to tell her and you that it’s okay to feel like an impostor. It’s okay to wonder if you’re legitimate. We all feel that way when we expand and step into unknown territory.

If you haven’t yet dared, as she did, to publish, be visible, and put yourself out there, and you’re still on the other side of the fence, not showing yourself because of these doubts, don’t wait for them to disappear before moving.

Know that the people you see on the other side of the fence — the ones you think “wow, they’ve got it all figured out,” they don’t. They just move forward with their fear and their doubts.

There are so many moments where I wish I could show you both sides of myself at the same time… to illustrate what I just said.

For example, when I’m developing new services or projects, I’m excited and passionate about sharing them, and at the same time, I have doubts and questions.

Part of me says, “Of course, I’ll make it happen, it’ll be fantastic, I’m super excited!” And then another part of me wonders, “Will it work out? Is it a good idea? Will it be good enough?”

Because I’ve seen behind the scenes of people even more successful than me, I know they also face these doubts — and they just move with their stuff, if I can say so. That’s the only difference.

And the more we are, myself included, the more we learn to move with it, even when fear and doubt try to hold us back.

Please know that what you see at the front, what people show, often hides what’s behind: the doubts, the questions.

It’s easier for me to say because I’ve had many clients and seen what they experience, so I have a concrete perspective on human nature. But you’d be surprised if you haven’t seen it yet how many doubts and questions these people have, and yet, they still move forward.

Sometimes they even share something amazing publicly, and at the same time, they’re thinking, “I hope it works…” It’s that inner tension we all feel.

So, what’s happening in your life right now? What’s important? What would you like to see being born?

Maybe you’re moving forward, but it feels like you’re carrying a heavy backpack. Maybe today, you can just set the backpack down, say,

“Okay, I know you’re there, but I’ll walk for five minutes or an hour without you and see how it goes.”

Every time I feel that heavy backpack of doubts and questions, I just put it next to me, breathe out, and let it go back to its place, the place of doubt and questioning.

That’s part of human nature.

No one moves forward without fears or limits.

Every time we expand, we face new fears, new limits.

That’s why, when I talk about my work and my services, one of my signature programs focuses on working on your thoughts, all those thoughts that hold us back and tell us we’re not good enough, that it’s not going to work, that it never has.

Then we work on the emotional connection to yourself, all the past experiences that might have created deep emotions that resurface whenever you try something new. And then, we work on your beliefs, those deeply ingrained thoughts you might not even be aware of, but that hold you back.

I also work on all of this at an energetic level; it’s really like a rebirth of your identity. And I’m still doing that work myself, every time I expand into new territory.

It’s important for me to tell my clients and now you that the work I offer is the same work I keep doing myself, again and again, at new levels, depending on the project I want to bring to life.
For example, right now I want to expand more around motherhood — because of my own experience and everything I’ve learned through it.

There are things I wish I had known, things I believe mothers truly need, and things that make me angry because they shouldn’t be happening anymore.

So I feel a lot of passion there!

But as I move with that, I also think: people haven’t heard me talk much about motherhood before… will they be interested? How will it work? How will I promote it? Should I create a new channel?
I don’t know. I don’t have the answers yet because I haven’t had the experience.

So it’s normal that I doubt.

But there’s also this other part of me, and you need to find yours that says: If I support mothers emotionally, I already know how to work around emotions. That’s one of my main gifts.

I’ve been in so many mothers’ communities through this journey that I now have a broad understanding of their challenges, even the ones I haven’t lived personally.

I’ve gained a lot of knowledge.

My husband even says, “You could write a thesis on this!”

He’s seen me throughout pregnancy and everything after.

So as I move into this new area, I also know my soul’s gift — creating healing art to support mothers.

I’m working on a card deck for mothers. I’ve never done one before, but I know how to create drawings that support people emotionally, mentally, spiritually, energetically.

Still, I’ve never done that exact thing, so as I write texts for it, I wonder: should I do it this way? Will it be interesting? Is it too focused on my own experience? Will it speak to others? I don’t know.

But will I let that stop me? I don’t want to.

Because, and this is important, this work isn’t just about me facing my fears and bringing something new to life. It’s about the people I want to serve — the support I didn’t have, and the support I see mothers need. If I let myself be held back by my fears and doubts, I’m not impacting the world or serving others.

And that’s a big problem.

You might say, “But Gloria, I even doubt that I can bring value.”

I understand. For me, it’s easier now because I’ve had years of experience bringing value to people.

But again, when I start in a new area like motherhood, I still question myself. So the doubt is always there, and the answer only comes through experience.
If you’re doubting the value you can bring, I understand and acknowledge that feeling.

Before I started coaching, I had no proof that I could bring value in the personal development or spiritual world. But I opened my eyes and looked back at past experiences how I was with other people.

So for you, one thing you can do is ground yourself in this belief and energy I’m sharing:

If you are passionate about something… if it makes you feel alive, that’s important! If you feel alive, happy, joyful, excited, and simply alive while doing something, then there’s no way you can’t add value. Because that aliveness itself is shared with others.

Everything we create is, in some way, about serving others, directly or indirectly.

That’s what gives meaning to our lives as humans living together on this planet.

We don’t live just for ourselves.

We feel connected and fulfilled when we add value and help others — and that’s what alignment truly is. That’s what I help people find.

If you feel far from that right now thinking, “Okay, Gloria, I’m not doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” know that I can help you find your way back.

I’m good at sensing your nature, expressing it, and helping you get back on track. 😉

And if you’re already on your path, we’ll expand into a new version of you with deeper insights and liberation work — so that you can shine even more.

EPISODE CONCLUSION

I hope I was able to clearly transmit the message that with your doubts, your uncertainty, and your fears, you are not alone.

It’s good that you’re experiencing them… it means you’re trying to expand into a new version of yourself, stepping into the unknown. It means you’re moving. You’re courageous.

And if you’re still on the other side of the fence, every time you encounter fear, remember that everyone has faced it at some point. Just don’t let that thought, “I’m not good enough,” hold you back.

Please share, email, or message me if I can help. We can start a conversation.

I could give you a more personal answer depending on where you’re at, if that helps you.

Because I truly, truly do not just believe, but know that this earth needs more people who are on their path, so we can all rise together.

That’s our duty for the collective and for ourselves.

Imagine what you bring to your family and friends when you feel more alive and joyful — when you’re contributing to the world in a meaningful way.

I hope you take this perspective into your heart and let it move you.
