EPISODE TEASER

Sometimes people tell me, “There are already so many coaches — why should I become one? Is there even space left in the market?” That’s really not how I see it. When you ask yourself those kinds of questions, you’re looking outward — it’s an external approach. My approach is from the inside. Do you feel called to this profession? Do you have an intuition whispering that this might be your next step? Do you feel at ease when you’re supporting others — like it’s something you’d love to spend more time doing? That’s the inner drive I listen to.

For me, it’s not about whether the market has opportunities or not. I deeply believe that if this path is truly yours, you’ll find a way to make it work. When we take steps aligned with our soul’s direction — with who we are and the gifts we carry — doors naturally begin to open.

EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS

Following Your Inner Call

When people ask me if there’s room for another coach in the industry, my approach is distinctly internal. It’s not about examining the market from the outside; it’s about listening to your intuition. Do you feel called to support others? Is there an inner voice guiding you toward this path? If your work feels aligned with your soul’s journey, then doors will eventually open for you. Remember, it’s not about market opportunities—it’s about answering your soul’s invitation.

The Evolution of My Coaching Career

My path to becoming a coach was not straightforward. I was once entrenched in a different career, fundraising in the arts sector. Though compelling, something felt amiss. After crossing paths with a coach who helped me identify my strengths, I discovered an alternative route that was more aligned with my interests and skills. This experience revealed to me the power of coaching.

Choosing the Right Training The world of coaching certification can be overwhelming, with options ranging from week-long programs to years of study. The key is to select a program that resonates with your learning style and professional goals. Personally, I followed my intuition and chose a training program in the UK, where practical application began from day one. This hands-on approach confirmed my passion for coaching and set me on my way.

A Day in the Life of a Coach Before motherhood, my full-time coaching days were a blend of client sessions, content creation, and continuous learning. My daily structure included three to four coaching sessions, time dedicated to crafting content for my podcast and social media, and personal development through ongoing education. Since becoming a mother, I’ve scaled back to maintain balance, which has enriched my perspective and refocused my priorities.

The Challenges and Rewards

Running a coaching business involves confronting both the joys and challenges of entrepreneurship. I’ve learned to navigate the administrative tasks, legal requirements, and the intricacies of marketing. These aspects were initially intimidating, but with time and support, they became part of the fulfilling package of leading a coaching business. It’s a continuous lesson in growth and adaptability.

Making a Living as a Coach

When I began my coaching career, the statistics about coaches not making a living were daunting. Yet, by focusing on coaches who succeeded, I learned invaluable lessons. Success in coaching isn’t just about being a skilled practitioner; it involves understanding your unique selling proposition and effectively communicating it to attract clients. It’s about continuous self-discovery and strategic positioning in the market.

Your Unique Path

If you’re feeling the inner nudge to explore coaching, know that your journey will be uniquely yours.
