#31- I was healing without knowing it
In this episode, I share how I discovered my healing art years before I even had a name for it.
This is for you if you sense there’s something unusual in you that you haven’t fully owned or expressed yet.

Introduction: I Was Healing Without Knowing It
What if the strangest, most specific thing about you, the part that feels too weird, too intimate, or too unexplainable to share, is actually holding the biggest gift for others?
That’s what I discovered. And I’m sharing this story because I suspect something similar might be waiting in you.
Mentioned in the episode:
– The work of Hilma af Klint, a Swedish spiritual painter.

When Everything Falls Apart, What Do You Reach For?
I burned out at 27. A toxic work relationship at the contemporary art museum where I worked as a fundraiser, not an artist, and a separation left me exhausted, empty, and without knowing what to do next.
The only commitment I could make was simple: one drawing per day. A small piece, a larger one—it didn’t matter. Just draw every day.
What I didn’t know then was that I was healing myself through that daily creative practice. It would take years and the right mirror for me to understand what I had actually been doing.
The Mirror You Need to See Your Own Gift
The clarity came from outside. Someone who worked with me energetically said, “You’re not just working with colours. You’re working with frequency. Every colour has a frequency that you immediately recognise to shift people’s energy.”
When I heard that, it landed not in my mind but in my whole body. Yes, it makes sense.
Another person from the art scene to whom I shared my work mentioned Hilma af Klint, a Swedish painter who was doing spiritual, abstract, frequency-based art long before it was recognised.
When I looked at her work, I immediately saw the resonance…
For the first time, people had mirrored back what I also felt – the spiritual nature of what I was creating.
That became the foundation of what I now call healing art or frequency: art that works through shapes, colours, and symbols to shift your frequency, not through what the mind can analyse, but through direct energetic activation.
The shift happens where it needs to happen: physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.
From Private Practice to Purposeful Gift
For years, I kept this completely private. Even as I drew every day, I shared the work with almost no one. It felt too intimate. Too strange to explain.
Also arrogant to pretend to be an artist!
When I finally began showing it — carefully, to a small circle — the responses were mixed. One comment made me want to retreat. Others opened something new in me (the Hilma Af Klint comparison was a big one!). And gradually, with the right support, I started to open to what this practice could offer other people.
But making the leap to offer it as a service was not immediate. I had to move through real fear and doubt first — what I was doing felt too strange, too unexplainable to put into a service. So I started quietly: offering it to a few people for free, just to see how they experienced it, and to slowly build my own confidence in what I was holding.
Until one day, the feedback I received made it impossible to keep it to myself any longer.
One healing artwork I created for someone else was for a woman who wanted to experience a genuine love relationship. She wrote to me afterwards:
“I felt both shaken and at peace. Everything was right for me. There was this feeling that I had contacted you to meet a man, but that it was actually really beyond that. A few days after receiving your artwork, I was able to end an 18-year relationship, an unsatisfying relationship that had made it impossible for me to meet someone who would really love me. I had been trying to break up for years, and it happened naturally, quietly, without suffering. It was obvious. There was a profound transformation within me, including this one: I realised I could never give value to someone else if I didn’t give value to myself, not just in a romantic relationship, but in all areas of my life. I will be forever grateful to you for your gift.”
That was the first or second piece I had ever made for someone outside myself. I sat with that feedback with immense joy and confirmation of what opened up.
What Your Hidden Creative Gifts Are Trying to Tell You
Here’s what I want you to take from this story: the gift was present the whole time. I was using it daily. But I had no name for it, no understanding of its reach, and I wasn’t ready to offer it to anyone.
That’s how many hidden gifts begin. They develop in private, in the raw, before they have a shape, a name, or a purpose you can explain.
The thing you do intuitively that seems almost automatic.
The creative practice that flows from somewhere you can’t quite locate, that feels alive in a way that surprises even you.
These aren’t accidents. They aren’t quirks to be explained away or kept out of sight.
– What do you create almost unconsciously — where the thinking gets out of the way?
– What have you been doing “just for myself” for years, without considering it a gift?
– What feels too strange, too spiritual, too personal to show to anyone?
That thing might be exactly what someone else needs.
Questions for Your Own Reflection
1) What creative practice are you keeping private, and what exactly are you protecting?
2) When did someone mirror something back to you that you already knew but couldn’t name?
3) What have you been “just doing for myself” that might carry a gift for others?
4) Where in your work or creative life do you feel most alive, most like yourself?
5) If you stopped waiting to fully understand your gift before sharing it, what would you do today?
6) What would it mean to stop hiding the most unusual, most specific thing about you?
Your Hidden Gifts Are Ready to Be Seen
As I said in this episode, as weird and as strange as it might seem, the most specific, intimate, unusual parts of you are often exactly what make you magnetic and exactly what others are waiting for.
If you’re a sensitive, creative person sensing that you have something specific to express, something that doesn’t fit neatly into conventional categories, and you want support uncovering and sharing it, I invite you to explore the experience She Comes Alive and the Alive Creator Mastermind.
